The White House Police Department uses Bike Patrol as an alternative patrol method.  This method of patrol uses a mountain bike to preform patrol responsibilities and allows the opportunity for the police officer to be more easily approached.  Bike Patrol is mostly commonly utilized in crowded areas and in areas that are not easy to access with a patrol vehicle, such as the greenways and the parks.
