**This Burn Permit is for residential permits ONLY. **
A permit will be valid for a period of two days. If more time is needed, it will be necessary to apply for another permit.
This permit is valid when a copy thereof is available at or near the burn site for examination by the Fire Chief or his authorized representative upon request. By submitting this permit, you are certifying that you will abide by all the Terms and Conditions of the permit and the regulations set forth in Title 7, Section 5, “Open Burning Regulations” of the White House Municipal Code.
Terms and Conditions
Open burning as listed below may be conducted, subject to specified limitations and provided further that no public nuisance is or will be created by suck open burning. The issuance of a permit will in no relieve the person responsible for such burning from the consequences or the damages, injuries, or claims resulting from such burning.
- Burning is limited to trees, limbs, and brush grown only on the area to be cleared.
- Rubber tires, plastic, cardboard, leaves, treated wood, painted wood, and laminated wood (plywood, etc.) cannot be burned.
- Burning is NOT permitted when the wind velocity is above 7 mph. Before starting fire, check with the Weather Bureau for wind speed and conditions on the day open burning is to begin.
- A continuous water supply equipped with a shut off nozzle and enough hose to reach 15 feet beyond the burn site is required.
- There shall be a qualified person assigned the sole duty to attend the fire from the time it is set until the fire is totally extinguished.
- Residential burning is limited to a pile that is no longer than 150 cubic feet and the pile must be at least 25 feet from any structure.
- At no time will the fire be left unattended.
- This permit can be voided at any time by the Fire Department.
Permits may also be obtained Monday through Thursday 7:15 am to 5:15 pm at Fire Station 2 located at 120 Business Park Drive.
Instructions:
- Please complete the fields below with all required information.
- After completing use your browser’s print option to print your copy of the permit. You can do this by going to “File” and then “Print”.
- You must keep a copy of this permit at the burn site otherwise the permit is NOT valid.
- After printing your copy, please click the “Submit” button to send a copy of your permit to the Fire Department.
