Volunteer Opportunities

Youth Sports

Head Coach/Assistant Coach 

We rely on volunteers to be our youth sports coaches. Coaches are responsible for communicating with parents, organizing practices, and creating line-ups and other game day requirements. White House Parks and Recreation supports our volunteer coaches by supplying uniforms, equipment (as needed), and practice and game facilities.

All youth sport coaches are required to complete a coaches application, pass a background check, and an online concussion training and sport specific skill training. 

Challenger Baseball Buddy 

Volunteer to work with youth with disabilities, to help them learn how to play baseball. Volunteer to coach the team or be a buddy for practices and games. Provide support an encouragement for players while they bat and field.

Museum

Interpreter/Performer

Share your passion for local history by volunteering at our museum. Volunteers can help by preparing for special events, wearing period dress and giving education speeches, or sharing the skills and talent at local schools.  This is a great opportunity for people with a passion for folk music, and  historical tools or practices. Share your knowledge with our community!

Senior Center 

Instructors

 Share your knowledge with our local senior citizens by teach a class in our Senior Center.  Exercise, art, and educational topics are welcome! Classes in the past have included square dancing, insurance information sessions, nutrition and fitness, horticulture/gardening, and local history.  

Sponsor an event or meal for our senior center. 

Performers

Get your name out their by performing for our Seniors. Dance groups, singers, or instrumental performances are always welcome!

Parks 

Park Clean Up Projects

Give back to your community by spending some time in our parks picking up litter. This is a great group opportunity for organizations looking for service opportunities. Reach out and see what support you can provide through other projects and opportunities.
