Citizen's Police Academy
The purpose of the academy is to give citizens the opportunity to learn about police work in general and also gain insight into the White House Police Department’s daily operations and programs. The Academy will be held on Monday nights from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. for 8 weeks. The classes are open to citizens 18 years of age and older and will meet at the White House Police Department. Class size is limited to 25 participants.

The Academy is not designed to make participants certified police officers, nor does it give the graduates authority to act as police officers. The focus of the curriculum is to provide an informative overview of the fundamentals of police operations and community crime prevention. This two-way communication will certainly be an effective and successful way to build a partnership between the community and the police department.
