As you tour through the White House Inn Museum, you will travel back in time to the beginnings of White House before it was even a city with exhibits that feature pictures, articles and artifacts of long ago.

Learn about a white house that stood along a well-traveled trail between Louisville and Nashville in the 1830s that was a stagecoach stop.

Mrs Guill Exhibit

Mrs. Evelyn Palmer Guill was the City’s first and only historian. She is known for her love of history and the book she wrote about White House, White House History and Reflections

 

Hamilton's fort

Hamilton’s Fort was built in 1788 and was the first known settlement in White House. Thomas Hamilton was a Revolutionary War solider who received the land for his service in Captain Vernon’s Company, North Carolina Troop. It is believed that the fort was a large rock house surrounded by a high rock fence.

 

The Museum celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote.
